Matt:  Grandma? Did you get to see the Apollo 13 landing on tv?

Nonnie:  Of course, Matthew. I've seen everything since before the birth of Jesus.

Papa: Tell him we were in the booth beside Lincoln. Get it?

(funniest old people that i know)

We decided to visit Matt's grandparents for a couple days. I love going to stay with them. I feel like I've been in their family my whole life. They are amazing. It was a little bit of a challenge traveling with Hallie, though. Now that she knows how to walk, she's grown into an adventurer. She wants to know about everything. She points at anything she sees and says "whatsat?"  It's cute but riding in the car with a screaming child isn't the most relaxing thing in the world. So finally on the way home last night Matt and I were both at our wits end and I asked him to try to sing her a song. He said "I don't know a song" and so I said "sing the itsy bitsy spider". He crawled into the back seat, put his face by hers, and sang/whispered the isty bitsy spider. (I dont think he wanted me to hear him) The moment he started to sing she stopped crying and fell asleep by the sound of her daddy's voice. It was the most precious thing ever. I hope I never forget it.

Twitter creeps me out.
I refuse.

What's new?

“ Don’t underestimate the value
of doing nothing, of just going along,
listening to all the things you can’t hear,
and not bothering."
Winnie the Pooh
Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle. Don't burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality. Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they're happy; share tears when they're down. Get along with each other; don't be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don't be the great somebody. Don't hit back; discover beauty in everyone. If you've got it in you, get along with everybody. Don't insist on getting even; that's not for you to do. "I'll do the judging," says God. "I'll take care of it." Our Scriptures tell us that if you see your enemy hungry, go buy that person lunch, or if he's thirsty, get him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness. Don't let evil get the best of you; get the best of evil by doing good.

Romans 12: 9-21

WHAT!
Now I must go make a blanket fort.

"There's another kind of love. One that gives you the courage to be better than you are, not less than you are. One that makes you feel that anything is possible. I want you to know that you could have that. I want you to hold out for it."

Dear Ohio,

Thanks.

Me
My first moment alone in a few days. Feels weird.

      But my pizza's done!
             (back to normal)

Have I ever mentioned that I love my family?

"Where are you tonight, friends? What is it in your life that you can't find Him in? I want you to know that there is nothing too small for Him to care about, and I am praying (for you and for me) that we open our eyes to the truth, and the next time we are faced with such an opportunity, I pray that we don't shy away from entering in and asking what is under the scarf.

There is unspeakable beauty in the work of the Master's hands, and I don't want to miss a moment of it. I am praying the same for you-for His ever-present love to surround you, regardless of where you find yourself in the wee hours of this night."
